Petchey Academy a coeducational secondary academy in Hackney dedicated to inspiring and supporting every child to be the best that they can. However, their washrooms were in a poor state due to very heavy use and vandalism, they contacted Interfix to work with them on a rolling programme to refurbish the toilets.

Complete strip out went ahead, including part removal of the front walls where possible. Ceiling modifications were made, wall cladding, vinyl flooring and a full height cubicle system were installed as well as solid surface washtroughs with sensor taps, and back to wall anti vandal resin WC pans.
To tackle the vandalism issue, the client wanted to remove part of the front wall of the toilet areas so make them more open and discourage the poor behaviour. The Hygienic wall cladding is also a great option for this type of environment, providing easy cleaning and maintenance. Full height cubicles provided increased privacy as the washrooms have been made more open.

The project was carried out during term time, as normal all our operatives were DBS checked, and we installed full height hoarding in the corridor to create a safe working environment. This project is a great example of how successful projects can be during working term time.
