Washrooms at Dulwich Hamlet School

Interfix upgraded facilities at Dulwich Hamlet School, resulting in a smarter, cleaner, safer and environmentally-friendly toilet area.

The commercial washroom refurbishment specialists provided a complete overhaul of the primary and junior school’s 110m2 sanitary space, and in doing so created a brighter, welcoming room which is also durable and easy-to-clean.

Prior to refurbishment, the washroom was prone to flooding, thus creating a health and safety risk to students. To eliminate the problem, Interfix installed a Corian Washtrough which offers greater depth to prevent spillages.

Solid grade laminate cubicles provided a robust alternative to the previous chipboard material, whilst the application of a new, non-slip vinyl floor enhanced the area’s safety aspect.

Hygienic, easy-to-clean wall cladding will help maintain the washroom’s pristine appearance, as well as reduce maintenance times and costs. Energy-saving features were also added, in the form of sensor taps and flush systems.

The installation of wall-hung WC pans and new disabled toilet facilities ensured provision of a fully-refurbished, all-inclusive washroom. The entire project was completed in the six-week school holiday, with students returning from the well-earned summer break to a washroom which offered the optimum in cleanliness, privacy and comfort.

“We took the decision to employ Interfix following excellent presentations to our Premises Team and School Business Manager, as well as our Governing Body. We were convinced that the company would be able to deliver the brief – contemporary looking toilets with a sophisticated feel, environmentally friendly and importantly hard wearing.

“The work was done during the six-week summer holiday break and we have all been delighted with the results! The automatic taps, sensor flushing and airblades are really appreciated by the children and the toilets definitely have the wow factor we were seeking.”
