Birchen Grove Garden Centre – Washroom Refurbishment
Birchen Grove Garden Centre, in North London prides itself as being the largest garden centre in Greater London. However, their washrooms were in a dire need of an upgrade, current facilities were unwelcoming and even turning customers away.
Due to the busy nature of the establishment the garden centre needed to remain open whilst the work was carried out. So, a phased project went ahead, always keeping one toilet area open for customers to use. Complete strip out of old facilities, including removal of internal block walls took place. Then installation of new suspended ceiling, LED lighting, hygienic wall cladding, non-slip vinyl flooring as well as solid grade laminate cubicles, WC and urinal duct panelling, vanity units and new hot water supplies.
Having a high footfall washroom area comes with challenges, but by removing internal block walls the space was opened up to give more space. The installation of hygienic wall cladding means easy maintenance going forwards, it is an ideal surface for busy public space areas. While we were on site the team found the existing pipework and drainage in a very poor condition, so this also had to be replaced. Windows were replaced too, which we liaised with a window contractor to install.
Another successful project complete!
