Background

Following the successful refurbishment of washroom facilities at Thanet District Council offices, Kent Innovation Centre approached Interfix Washrooms to deliver a similar transformation within their own premises.

As part of the wider Thanet District Council network, the centre had seen first-hand the quality of finish, project management and attention to detail demonstrated during the council office refurbishment. With their own facilities becoming increasingly dated and tired, the team wanted to create a modern, professional washroom environment that reflected the standards of the centre and provided a better experience for staff and visitors alike.

The challenge

The existing washrooms were functional but visibly ageing, with finishes that no longer reflected the high-quality environment within the innovation centre.

While the desire to upgrade the facilities was clear, securing project approval took considerable time. Once approved, the refurbishment also needed to be delivered within a live, operational building, requiring careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption to businesses and visitors using the centre.
