Washrooms at Meath School
Interfix’s design and fit-out skills proved critical for the refurbishment of a school washroom in urgent need of modernisation.
The toilet and shower cubicles at Meath School in Surrey, which caters for students with specialist language and communication needs, had become worn and tired-looking over time. The showers, in particular, required modernisation. Staff needed to be able to turn-off flows in order to enter the cubicle and assist students in an emergency.
With more than 30 years’ experience as washroom specialists, Interfix had just the solution. The company designed and installed a new shower facility with remote access, enabling it to be operated from outside the cubicle.
The installation of the specialised system was part of a full strip-out and refurbishment of the 13m2 shower and toilet area. Carried-out in a four-week period which included school half-term, Interfix installed safe, non-slip flooring; new toilet and shower facilities with custom-made polycarbonate shower doors, a vanity unit, and a suspended ceiling. The shower doors’ polycarbonate properties were essential to them being transparent, but not breakable.
Despite the school remaining open whilst much of the refurbishment was carried out, Interfix was able to supply the school with a modernised washroom area, which has increased safety thanks to the diligence and expertise of Interfix and its remote shower solution.
