Britannia Refined Metals, a Lead Refinery based in Gravesend, Kent contacted Interfix when their existing shower block was very old and in need of a refurbishment. Due to the nature of the environment, the showers must be completely jet washed every day, and therefore need highly durable materials to withstand the cleaning program.

Full strip out when ahead followed by a new configuration. New vinyl safety flooring was installed as well as drainage gullies, manhole covers, hygienic wall cladding and suspended ceiling. New lighting and cubicles were also installed including a steam shower, a drench shower and one electric shower to comply with the clients regulatory requirements.

The project had to be completed in two phases to ensure they always had usable showers, this meant we had to run a complete new pipework system whilst making sure the existing was maintained and in use all the way through the project. Along with this we had to make sure the staff could safely access the shower block whilst we were working on the other half of the room. Despite working in a live environment, Interfix completed the project to a high standard.
