Washrooms at Brent Civic Centre
Brent Civic Centre had previously been awarded the greenest building in the UK, however, leaking sensor taps and insufficient vanity units enabled water to end up on the floor. These problems posed a threat to Brent Civic Centre’s green award and had to be resolved. Brent Civic Centre also sought to eliminate rubbish bins from their washrooms and called in Interfix to resolve the above.
To resolve the problems with water wastage and difficult cleaning issues, Interfix consulted with Brent Civic Centre to agree on a design for implementation. Solid grade panelling and wash troughs were installed, to replace the insufficient ones. These wash troughs incorporated a slot detail for improved water disposal & drainage. The wash trough also featured a bin chute, to provide users with a bin facility, but keep the washroom in line with the highest quality of design. A Corian upstand was installed, with added push taps, to ensure Brent Civic Centre no longer faced issues with sensor technology and further water wastage.
Fitted in a washroom with a size of 35m2, Interfix were required to complete the work during an office environment, during normal working hours. Given a tight time frame, Interfix’s adaptability proved to succeed.
As a result of the refurbishment, Brent Civic Centre can rest assured that water usage is being kept to a minimum and not being spilt on the floor. This in turn reduces washroom cleaning costs and reduces the chance of an accident occurring.
